ARRIVAL
- Register in the reception at the holiday village when staying in Cottages, Hostel or at the Strandskogens Camping. The Beachside Camping has it´s own separate reception, located in proximity to the campingsite. In the reception you will get a key, access-card and information about which cottage or camping spot you are supposed to stay in.
- When checking in at the campsites (caravan, motorhome and tent), you need a camping ID (free of charge, but mandatory). Get this before check-in and it will go faster – follow this link and get it.
- You have access to cabins & rooms at 3:00 p.m. at the earliest. Camping pitches from 14:00.
(NOTE: The times are approximate. In the event of more cleaning than normal in our objects, check-in may take place later than 3 p.m. – we will inform via SMS). - When arriving after the reception has closed you will find your cottage/room number in a key cabinet on the reception wall. Information about this will be given via a text message if you stated you mobile number when booking your accommodation.
- When arriving late during high peak season, our prebooked guests at the campingsites, will get a accesscode (gives you access to servicehouses, showers etc) by textmessage. Drop in-guests may call the personal on active duty (+46705229136) between 21.00 and 04.00.
- We try our best to give our guests the certain number on cabins and spots that they wished for during booking, but sometimes we need to move a booking due to different circumstances such as damage to the facility, flooding or such.
DEPARTURE
– Check-out is at 12.00. At final cleaning it´s at 11.00 and at the hotel check out is always at 11.00.
– The cottages should always be cleaned at check out – if you´ve ordered final cleaning you need to be checked out by 11.00 at the latest. Final cleaning must be ordered at least 40 days before departure. When ordering final cleaning all the dishes need to be made, and all the garbage removed by you.
– You leave your key in the reception upon your departure, letting us know that you are leaving – we check the final cleaning after you´ve left. In other words, you don´t have to await our inspection of the cottage.
– If you need to leave before the reception opens due to planes, boats, ferry or such, you simply just leave the key in the black letterbox at the reception wall. We will check the final cleaning after you´ve left. If we find that your cleaning is not up to standards, we own the right to charge you by invoice for the cost of the final cleaning of the facility that you rented.
Remember that you clean your cabin/villa yourself at our resort, as long as you have not ordered final cleaning (no later than 40 days before arrival). If the cottage is not cleaned upon check-out, the guest will be charged the final cleaning cost for that object + an additional 25% fee.
Cancellation
Cancellation is possible, but under certain conditions.
- If canceled earlier than 40 days before arrival, we refund 90% of the agreed amount.
- If canceled within 39 to 14 days before arrival, we refund 80 % of the agreed amount.
- If canceled within 13 to 2 days before arrival we refund 20% of the agreed amount.
- If canceled within 1-0 days before arrival, or interruption of ongoing stay, nothing will be refunded. Sudersand Resort is entitled to charge any amount that hasn’t been paid.
A cancellation insurance can be added to the reservation, which gives you the right to cancel the reservation without any fees. Read more here.
Transport to Gotland is by ferry via Destination Gotland or by plane from Arlanda/Bromma.

The bus runs from Visby to Sudersand between mid-June and mid-August. Please note that the bus only goes completely to Sudersand during this period, other times (autumn/winter/spring) you need to look for another means of transportation from Fårösund as the bus stops there. The current table for winter time, which you can find here, applies to line 20 to Fårösund.

When is check-in possible?
Our check-in is from 15.00.
When is check-out?
At the hotel check-out is at 11.00, at all our other accommodations it´s at 12.00. (11.00 when final cleaning).
How should I proceed with the cleaning?
All surfaces should be wiped clean, the floors should be vacuumed and mopped, the dirty dishes must be washed, dried and put back in the cabinets. Garbage must be disposed of in landfill. Do not forget the sink, toilet and shower.
Remember that you clean your cabin/villa yourself at our resort, as long as you have not ordered final cleaning (no later than 40 days before arrival). If the cottage is not cleaned upon check-out, the guest will be charged the final cleaning cost for that object + an additional 25% fee.
Are there cleaning items available? Detergents?
Mops, vacuum cleaners and cleaning materials are available in the cabins or in the service buildings. Bring detergent and dish soap yourself, you can even bring dishwasher tablets if your accommodation has a dishwasher.
What does final cleaning mean?
You check-out at 11.00 instead of at 12.00 and all the cleaning is done for you by our personel, except for washing the dishes and taking out the trash. Final cleaning is always included in the price at our hotel. (check-out at 11.00).
Are you allowed to park by the cottage?
There are marked parking spaces for the accommodation where you can have ONE car standing. If you have more than one car they must be parked in the parking lot at the front desk.
Does the pool area cost anything for the guests staying at your facilities? And when does it open?
Yes, everyone have to pay to be able to spend time by the pool area, regardless if the use the pool or not. Instead of including pool access in the price, we have chosen to let our guests decide if they want to hang out at the beach or by the pool area during the summer.
The pools opening hours are 10.00 and 18.00.
Where is the nearest ATM located at?
Currently the closest ATM is in Fårösund, by the local grocery store called ICA (on the other side of the bay). Hopefully we´ll have an ATM here on Fårö soon.
Is there internet and WIFI?
Yes, there are free WIFI-zones around the area. You can connect in the proximity of the receptions of the village and the beachside camping site, the playground, the pool/ adventure golf and the hotel/ youth hostel.
Can you get to Sudersand by bus?
Yes, the bus departs from Visby to Sudersand from mid June to mid August. See bus schedule here The bus number is 20. The bus makes a stop right outside the Sudersands front desk.
Are there taxi cabs available on Fårö?
Yes, Fårö Cab. Call them at 0498-22 35 94. They even do guided tours!
There are private laundry facilities in the Twin Houses, Twin Cottages och Beach Villas.
Family cottages 4-5-6 beds, The Little Cottage and The Large cottage all share the same laundry facility located in the Holiday Village. Drop-In applies here where one set of laundry costs 50 SEK and tumble drying costs 35 SEK. Don´t forget to bring your own detergent. You access the laundry facility with your Cottage key and pay with your accesscard or code.
At Strandskogens Camping there is an additional laundry facility available for our guests staying at the Cottage Camping and the Camping guests. In this facility payment is made by using your access card or code. One set of laundry costs 50 SEK, and one set of tumle drying costs 35 SEK. Don´t forget to bring your own detergent.
At the Beachside Camping Site there is a laundry facility available for our Camping- and Tent Camping guests. Payment is made by using your access card or code. One set of laundry costs 50 SEK and one set of tumble drying costs 35 SEK. Drop-In is applied, which means that if no one is using the machines, you´re good to go. Don´t forget to bring your own detergent.

INTERNET
We have WIFI zones at the resort that provide our guests with free internet.
The zones are localized at:
- around the reception at the cottage village, the pool, the playground, the adventure golfcourse,
- the hotel/hostel
- At beachside camping site – around the reception, the camping cabins, the large service house (no. 1.) and service house no. 3.
- at Strandskogen’s campsite.
However, the zones are limited to these areas and do not cover all cottages or the entire campsites. There should be WIFI in the hotel and hostel rooms, but due to the fact that the walls can interfere with the network, we cannot guarantee the speed.
The terrace- & beach villas and twin houses have their own WIFI.

SCR-CARD
We are connected to the Swedish Camping – SCR which means that you as a guest can use a camping card (Camping Key Card) at your stay at our camping facilities such as Strandskogens Camping or Sudersand Beachside Campingsite.
The Camping Key Card is a card for you and your family and includes an accident insurance as well as over 80 different discounts. Read more about them at SCR´s website.
You can purchase the card in our front desk at your arrival or directly just by clicking on the link below. Make sure to order the card in advance if you order the card from the website, so that you get it well before your stay with us.
The card costs 150 SEK/ year and you only need one card per caravan/mobile home and family.
TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN
Sudersand is the perfect place to travel to if you have small children – there are large natural areas to play in, a 5 km long sandy beach and right next to the soccer court there is a playground perfect to play in. And if the kids get tired of swimming in the ocean, we have a large pool perfect for splashing around in.
However, there is still a few things that we want our guest to think about when booking our cottages:
– In our family cottages with 4 beds, the stairway to the second floor is located on the outside of the cottage. Therefore
there is no internal connection between the floors and which makes it harder to watch over the children.
– The twin cottages have a staircase inside but we would like to inform that this is a step ladder and it is quite steep (see pictures in our gallery). However, there are stair gates in our twin cottages, and they are mounted on the upper floor.
– The Sudersands Holiday Village is located pretty remotely from the big main roads, but there are smaller roads leading around the area to the parkin lots. Some of the cottages are closer to the roads than others, if this is an important matter to you, let us know when booking your cottage so that we can inform you if your cottage is located near a road or not.
– We are aware of the fact that there are many families with children staying at our facilities, and we try our best to make sure everyone is having an equally pleasant stay. But keep in mind that everyone is responsible for their own children – make sure to keep a close eye on your children at all times!
– Children under the age of 2 stay with us free of charge.
Travel beds for small children are available for renting or you can bring your own. The travel beds available for renting all have mattresses that are pretty thin so make sure to bring an extra if you wish to do so. Barnsängarna vi har är resesängar – tänk på att madrassen är ganska tunn så ta en extra om så önskas. Quilt and pillow are not included in the rental of travel beds.
Some of the facilities at the Sudersand Resort are owned by private individuals who, with the help from us, are placing their private accommodations for renting.
These object are the Twin Houses, Beach Villas and the Bondans 1:21.
All the practical matters, such as check-in & check-out and payment is handled by us at Sudersand Resort. As usual our living conditions apply, giving you the safety of renting a private accommodation in Fårö.
Furnishing can of course vary from house to house, so if there is anything in particular that you are wondering about, do not hesitate to ask.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
The reservation is binding and the guest agrees to the terms of this text when the service fee or the total amount has been paid. The guest is responsable for the fulfillment of the terms. The reservation will become binding for Sudersand Resort 5 days after the service fee or the total amount has been paid.
The service fee constitutes 20% of the total amount of the reservation (only applied when choosing payment by invoice). The fee and the final settlement must be paid before the date specified on the invoice. The final settlement must always be paid 40 days before arrival. Reservations with a total amount of maximum 500 SEK or placed within 40 days to arrival must be paid entirely when made.
We’ll send one (1) invoice / confirmation in conjunction with the reservation. A bookingfee of 50 SEK comes in addition when the reservation is made by phone/email or when payment by invoice is chosen. If you like to add or remove a cancellation insurance to/ from your booking, please contact us for a new invoice BEFORE payment of any fees.
We do not refund the cost of cancellation insurance or booking-/servicefees.
A confirmation of payment (invoice) will be sent when the payment is recieved. If the service fee has not been paid within the expiration date, we are entitled to remove your reservation within 5 days. We will try to reach you at one occasion by email. The guest is responsible that we have the correct contact information. If we do not receive a response from the guest within 3 days after the mail has been sent, we will cancel the reservation and apply our terms of cancelation.
CANCELLATION
If a cancellation insurance has not been added, or become valid, the following applies:
- If canceled earlier than 40 days before arrival, we refund 90% of the agreed amount.
- If canceled within 39 to 14 days before arrival, we refund 80 % of the agreed amount.
- If canceled within 13 to 2 days before arrival we refund 20% of the agreed amount.
- If canceled within 2-0 days before arrival, or interruption of ongoing stay, nothing will be refunded. Sudersand Resort is entitled to charge any amount that hasn’t been paid.
Change of existing reservation
Additions to booking (extended accommodation period, bed linen, etc.) can of course be made free of charge. Transfer of accommodation to another person is allowed, up to 48 hours before arrival, for a change fee of SEK 500 per booking and occasion. Please note that changing the day of arrival or departure counts as a cancellation.

Please observe that there may be other terms that apply when you make a reservation through a third party, such as Destination Gotland, Gotland Promotion or Booking.com.
PAYMENT
Payments is made by card or invoice.
Card: We accept Visa and Mastercard. We do not apply any additional fees when you pay by card and all card data is handled securely by our DIBS by Nets, which is certified by PCI-DSS.
The entire amount of the reservation is paid directly when using payment by card.
Invoice: When the booking is placed a invoice is sent by email (or by regular post). The guest is responsible to keep the contacts updated. A booking fee is added when choosing invoice. The amount is split in a service fee (20%) and a final settlement (80%), which is paid accordingly to the invoice.
Refunds: will be performed through transfer from bank account.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
The customer are obligated to read and check the confirmation of the reservation as soon as it has been received.
Guests under the age of 18 are welcome in the company of a guardian.
Camping guests do not have the right to sublet or rent out the campsite or cabin.
Only one car per camping site. Guests are directed to parking outside the area. Parking may not take place on empty camping spots or other areas inside the area. Car washing is not permitted in the camping area.
Make sure that LPG and electrical equipment are tested and approved according to current regulations.
Smoking is prohibited in all buildings at the resort.
Grilling is permitted as long as there is no ban according to the municipality’s recommendations.
The correct number of travelers that must be specified when making a reservation. The number of travelers may not exceed the number of beds in the object. When living at our campingsites, only one tent/car/caravan or motorhome is allowed in each pitch. If exceeded we are entitled to charge the amount of 500 SEK / day and person in the cabins and charge double cost at the campingsites. When extra people are announced in advance a charge of 175 SEK / night and person will be added (only possible in certain objects, and therefor it is important for you to contact us first).
It is our responsibility to carry out rentals as agreed but due to events beyond our control, we are entitled to cancel the rental. We are also entitled to change/ move the guest to a equivalent cottage/ villa/ pitch due to doublebooking in the cause of system failure at the time of the reservation is made, problems in the reserved object or other similiar reasons. These changes does not entitle the guest to cancel or hold back any payments of the reservation or recieve any other compensations.
If an error arises due to us or a failure to fulfill the required services, the customer must report the error without delay. Significant breach of contract on our part, such as fire or the like, we will refund all of the fee paid. The guest has no right to compensation beyond this.
Remember that you clean your cabin/villa yourself at our resort, as long as you have not ordered final cleaning (no later than 40 days before arrival). If the cottage/villa is not cleaned upon check-out, the guest will be charged the final cleaning cost for that object + an additional 25% fee.
The rental can be canceled by us because of Force Majeure where the customer should be notified as soon as possible, refund of the paid fee will be in accordance with what has been stated above.
Each guest is liable for damage caused by negligence or by breach of instructions or regulations. The guest agrees to respect the applicable rules of procedure and to act so that other guests and neighbors are not disturbed. Damage to the contracted object with associated spaces (ex wc, shower, sauna etc.) is replaced by the guest.
If the guest violates any of these rules, we reserve the right to separate the guest from the item without repaying what has already been paid.
The guest provides himself / herself with the form of insurance that he deems necessary.
Any complaints regarding the reserved object must be notified immediately on the day of arrival to Sudersand Resort so that any errors can be rectified as soon as possible.
*Force Majeure.
A party shall not be liable for any failure of or delay in the performance of this agreement for the period that such failure or delay is beyond the reasonable control of a party, materially affects the performance of any of its obligations under this agreement, and could not reasonably have been foreseen or provided against, but will not be excused for failure or delay resulting from only general economic conditions or other general market effects. War, war-like events, civil war, revolution, rebellion or action by those in power who have inadvertently seized power or destruction through government intervention, strikes, lockouts, blockades and natural disasters are examples that is included and beyond the organizer’s control.
CANCELLATION INSURANCE
- The tenant can protect themselves against cancellation costs by adding a cancellation insurance at the time of booking, for a fee of SEK 300 per object.
- The cancellation insurance applies when presenting a certificate in the special circumstances described in more detail below.
- The insurance entitles the guest to a refund if canceled later than 40 days before arrival.
- The cancellation insurance is not usable closer than 24 hours before arrival, after that the booking is considered used and no refund will be made.
- The cancellation insurance applies to all named persons in the booking.
- If the customer chooses to use the cancellation insurance, all persons in the booking will be canceled. No partial refund can be made if the others choose to use the trip.
- The cancellation insurance is only valid when the fee and the registration fee of 20% (stated on the confirmation) has been paid. This must be paid no later than 10 days after the time of booking.
The insurance applies when following terms are met:
- In case of death or serious injury that directly prevents the guest to fulfill the trip, together with a attest from a doctor, that happened to you, your spouse, partner, parents of you or your spouse, children, siblings or fellow travelers within the same booking. (Please note that a fellow traveler need one’s own insurance for refund).
- If an accident happen that is beyond any reasonable control of the guest, such as fire at home, that directly prevents the guest to travel. Such happening of accidents must be attested from authority, insurance company or doctor.
- Enclosure to the armed forces or civil defense.
The cancellation protection does NOT apply in these circumstances:
- Concerns about future illness (eg Covid-19).
- If war should arise.
- Illness, accident or injury diagnosed at the time of signing the cancellation protection.
- Chronic diseases / infections unless the person has been completely symptom-free / trouble-free six months before the time of booking.
- Complications due to self-selected procedures and / or treatments such as cosmetic surgery or other cosmetic procedures.
- Mental illness.
- Interventions or treatments that have been planned at the time of signing the cancellation protection.
- Illnesses, accidents or injuries caused by the abuse of alcohol, drugs, sleeping pills, intoxicants or drugs.
- Compensation that can be obtained from other parties, ie other cancellation protection or insurance.
- Missed purpose of the trip.
Medical certificate:
Must contain dates for examination / first treatment, dates for diagnosis and diagnosis (for investigation of rapidly occurring disease). The doctor’s certificate must be stamped and signed by the doctor on duty and the place of employment must be registered. We only accept medical certificates from doctors on duty.

PEAK SEASON
From mid June to mid August the Sudersand Resort is full of activity.
Local restaurants and cafes are open on a daily basis and the bakery Sylvis Döttrar is open from early morning with freshly baked bread. The beaches are full of activity.
The local restaurants can sometimes arrange events or have music playing during the late evenings, we want our guests to be aware of that and that these events might entail in a high noise level at times. Sudersand is mostly a quiet place but we still like to inform you that sometimes there are events or gatherings around Sudersand.
The beach is a public place, owned by the people of Fårö and not by Sudersand Resort, and therefor all people must be allowed to travel through (by foot) the resort at any time. The playground and the soccer field is also referred to as a public place. This means that we have no legal right to stop events, as entertainment or weddings, at the beach. But this is why the following applies:
- Events are allowed to play music until 01.00 am.
- The soccer field can be occupied by matches or a soccer school (usually the school takes place during the week 28.)
- Sudersand Resort owns no responsibility for events or arrangements made by nearby restaurants or companies. (Such as the stone oven bakery, Vinor Krog, Carlssons Café, Sudersannas etc.)
- If you feel that you are disturbed by any of the above, please contact the company that arranges the event.
As a resort at a large area with both private and public places, we always try to balance the both to be for the best, for all parties, at all time.
Our opening hours during peak season are 9.00 – 21.00.
OFF SEASON
Sudersands Holiday Village is open all year around, while our Camping is open from 1 May – 30 September.
From the mid of August, the mid season starts. The range of events and activities are a bit more limited med a lot of the restaurants and stores are still open. The public transport system reduces their departures to Sudersand and only goes as far as to Fårösund, which is located on the other side of the bay by the ferry.
This is valuable information while planning your stay at Fårö during the mid season and off season.
With all that said, we truly recommend a visit to Fårö and enjoying what we call mid season. The ocean is still warm in August, and there is a a lot less people visiting the island than during the peak season. Winter on Fårö is a lot more quiet with beautiful starry nights. The calm spreads and only the crackle of the wood stove reminds you of that time goes on as usual.
From September, our front desk is manned between 9.00 – 15.00 on weekdays and 9.00 – 12.00 on weekends.
Fårö is an amazing island regardless of season, so do not hesitate to visit the island during the winter tranquility!
